It’s obvious that this space isn’t getting as much love as it used to.
Even the location tag in my banner remains in “Croatia” even though that was quite a few months back.
I’ve since changed it back to “Sunny Singapore”, haha.
I’m still pretty active on my micro-blogging platform Dayre – www.dayre.me/joycesayshello.
But I’m back here because somehow travel photos just look more pleasing when they fill the entire screen and are in your face kinda huge.
I should really start getting my travel photos out of my hard disk and onto this space.
A couple of months back, I was whisked away to Seoul by KTO (Korean Tourism Organisation) Singapore.
It was a vastly different experience from my usual Seoul runs.
A different kind of interesting, I would say.
Did up a compilation of a few places which are lovely and picturesque for the camera-wielding traveller in you.
So here goes!
Songwol-dong Fairy Tale Village
It was slightly gloomy on the day we visited this whimsical looking village with fairytale characters/stories painted all over the walls of actual residential homes.
We arrived pretty early (around 8am-ish) and almost got the entire place to ourselves.
Every corner we turned made for good photos and we went trigger happy that morning despite having to immediately get on with our itinerary having endured a red-eye flight.
Going earlier means that you’re less likely to have random strangers walking in on your photos, but then again, I spotted a few cafes there which do not open so early.
Would love to go back again for the cutesy cafes!

Pocheon Herb Island
There’s definitely more to Herb Island than just photos, even though I mentioned above that I was doing a compilation of photogenic places in Seoul.
Your 2 hour ride from the heart of Seoul is going to worth it because there is a myriad of activities you can do at Herb Island!
You would be able to spend at least half a day there especially if you’re into wellness services and spas.
We underwent a couple of wellness treatments such as a foot bath and an aromatherapy massage, followed by lunch after.
After our overnight flight to Seoul, the massage felt unbelievably good.
Or if you wanna say it the Singaporean way – SHIOKS.
Lunch at the Athenae Hall Restaurant was pork chops fried to perfection and seasoned with herbs and edible flowers which they grew on the island.
Definitely the most good looking plate of pork chops I’ve had for sure!
Also, Running Man fans might want to pay this place a visit… I’ve heard that it was one of the filming locations for the variety show!

Grévin Seoul Museum
I haven’t been to any wax museums in my life so it was a brand new experience for me, visiting the Grévin Seoul Museum which was less than a year old.
We went on a guided tour and got to learn about how the Grévin team maintains the place, how much effort (A CRAZY LOT BTW) goes into the upkeep of the wax figurines and also the timeline of wax figurine creation.

Top Cloud Restaurant
An amazing panoramic night view of the city coupled with good buffet-style food and romantic ambience is what you’ll get what you dine at Top Cloud.
The restaurant is situated on the top floor and Jongno Tower and the bird’s eye view made us ooh and ahh during the course of our dinner.
It was crowded with both tourists and locals alike on the day we visited.
Guess it’s a pretty hot spot for dinner in Seoul.
Psst! They have really cute waiters.

Heyri Art Valley
Again located away from the hustle and bustle of Seoul, Heyri Art Valley makes an intriguing place to visit.
They have multiple attractions such as exhibitions, museums and cafes but unfortunately we were rushing to catch our flight and so only had time to do a quick dash in and out of the Fairytale Museum and the Alive Museum.
Admittedly, museums aren’t at the top most priority of my to-see list when I travel.
My companions had a great time snapping photos all over though.
Would still recommend that you give this place a visit if museums and exhibitions are up your alley!
Will be back to share more about some stuff we did in Seoul which made this trip noteworthy!
